Если серьезно - в этом нет ничего страшного. Да, многие конторы радостно покупают народ на красивую обертку, вкладывая в нее все силы. Близзы же много раз показывали, что имеют другие приоритеты.
Они делают игры культовые. И при том - доступные во всей красе обладателю среднего компа. Т.к. игра, которая будет разворачиваться только на топовой машине, сразу теряет огромную аудиторию - процент людей, гонящихся за прогрессом, не так уж велик, и технодемки типа творений CryTek (я о Crysis) обречены быть крутыми, но малопопулярными.
Для справки хочу напомнить, что Diablo 2 на момент выхода имела разрещение 640*480(в LOD увеличенное до 800х600), и 256 цветов, однако это совершенно не помешало ей стать культовой.
То же самое можно сказать и про Warcraft 3, чей движок (имхо, конечно) был проще, чем Aurora Engine (Neverwinter Nights), и про WOW, который радостно запускается на любом современном компе, если в нем есть вообще хоть какая-нибудь видеокарта.
Так что спокойствие, только спокойствие. Эти люди надежно доказали - они знают, что делают. :)

Я, например, до сих пор играю в Magic and Mayhem для 95 Винды и Хеллфаир. Если игра будет интересной, плевать какая там графика.
